I have been a mental health provider for the last 9 years and have been licensed by the state of California since 2000. The vast majority of my experience comes from treating victims of sexual abuse (i.e., gang/stranger rape, torture, incest and date rape). As such I have become familiar with the treatment of Posttraumatic Stress Disorder and have worked towards expanding my ability to treat patients suffering from PTSD outside of the realm of sex crimes.
Populations served: adolescents, adults, families, married and non-married couples.
Specialties:
- Sexual abuse by family and non-family members
- Symptoms resulting from trauma such as natural disaster, car accidents, war and being the victim of a crime.
Diagnosis commonly treated within my practice:
- Posttraumatic Stress Disorder
- Major Depression
- Partner relational problem
- Parent child relational problem
- Sexual abuse of an Adult
- Sexual abuse of a child
Treatment modalities:
Experiential Psychotherapy When incorporating experiential methods I most commonly use the gestalt techniques “empty chair" and role-play.
Cognitive/Behavioral This treatment model is especially helpful when working with clients seeking anger management.
Somatic Experiencing (S.E.) S.E. is a treatment modality that quickly and effectively treats symptoms resulting from trauma such as surviving war, sexual abuse, domestic violence, natural disasters and car accidents.
